Sizzling Hot Deluxe slot: the cabinet classic with a gamble button

The star pays from wherever it lands, the seven pays the ceiling, and under every win sits a button offering to double it. Novomatic has left the Sizzling Hot Deluxe slot much as the halls knew it: a 5x3 grid, 5 lines that never move, RTP 95.66%, medium volatility and 1000x for a screen of sevens. What it carries in place of free spins is the gamble ladder, and I can count on one hand the cards on the Hit tab that still offer you one.

Seven symbols, five lines and one star that ignores them

The grid is 5x3 and wins are read from the first reel to the right along 5 lines you cannot switch off. There is no wild, which is worth knowing before you go hunting for one: every symbol pays for itself alone, and the single symbol that breaks the line rule is the star.

  • Cherries, lemons, oranges and plums: the bottom of the paytable. Most spins are made of these, and a full line of them moves the balance by small change.
  • Grapes and watermelons: the middle pair, and the first symbols whose full line sends your eyes to the balance.
  • The seven: the top symbol, and the one everybody at those cabinets sat there waiting for. A screen of them is the picture the 1000x ceiling is printed for.
  • The star: the scatter. It pays wherever it stops, ignores the line rule entirely, and it is why a spin with nothing lined up can still put money on the balance.

A round is quick and loud, in the same way the cabinets were. The word deluxe belongs to the artwork of the online version. Underneath it sits the same short paytable the cabinets carried, with no wild anywhere on it.

Double or nothing: the one decision the game asks you for

There are no free spins to trigger here and nothing to buy. What the game does instead is put a choice under every win, and that choice has two answers.

  1. A win lands

The amount sits on the screen with two buttons under it: collect it, or send it to the gamble.

  2. Call the colour

The game turns a card face down and asks for red or black. That is the whole mechanic, and the odds of a coin call are exactly what they look like.

  3. Right doubles it, wrong takes all of it

A correct call doubles the win and offers the same choice again. A wrong one takes the win, though not the stake you spun with.

  4. Find where the ladder stops

The game sets a limit on how far the doubling can run, and that limit lives in its own rules screen. Read it before your first gamble, while the decision is still a cheap one.

A ladder in place of a round, then, and I would rather have it than a bonus I never reach. It is also the quickest route ever invented for handing a good spin straight back.

About that star. It is paid separately from everything else on the paytable, because it does not care which reel it landed on or whether a line runs through it. If you have only played games where a scatter merely opens a round, this is a different job for the same symbol.

What medium volatility feels like across five lines

The passport gives RTP 95.66% and a volatility rating of medium. Put together, they describe a session that keeps breathing: the fruit pays often enough that the balance rarely drops in a straight line, while the sevens stay far enough apart that an evening can finish on either side of where it started.

That return sits a shade under what the newer cards on the shelf declare, and if that does not put you off, here is what the trade buys: a paytable with a real top on it. 1000x from a screen of sevens, on a game that has nothing else to fund. Newer fruit slots spend part of their return on features you have to reach first; this one spends all of it on symbols you can see.

The stake is set once on the bet panel and every spin uses it. No ante, no side bet, no feature cost. What you stake is what those 5 lines carry.

What I cannot work out is how a card with that return still holds a place among new releases on the Hit tab. The obvious answer is that people keep opening it. That explains the placement. The habit itself still beats me.

The Novomatic race this card scores nothing in

At the time of checking, the tournament showcase carried a Novomatic free spins race with a 25 000 USD pool, open from Bronze. Points in a race of that kind are handed out for triggering free spins. This game has none, so it collects nothing there no matter how long you sit at it, and the studio name on the card is exactly why people assume otherwise. The entry statuses for every race are listed on the tournaments page.

What the bets do feed is the status ladder, which runs from Beginner up to Platinum and raises how much you are allowed to withdraw in a day. Slots and sport both count towards it, and the level is confirmed on the first day of each month.

One mistake comes up again and again with this game, and the gamble button is where it happens: sending a win you actually wanted into a colour call. A full line of sevens is the money you sat down for, and it is also the money most likely to go face down on a card, because the ladder is right there and the win is still warm. Collect it. The call is a coin either way, the game has no idea you are on a run, and nothing about the size of a win makes the next guess any better than the last one.

Sizzling Hot Deluxe demo: the lobby opens it one step in

Novomatic publishes no open launcher for this game, and the frame above says so in plain words. The free version opens from the game card in the Vavada lobby: log in, find the card on the Hit tab, switch it to demo mode, and you get the same paytable and the same generator the paid version runs on. The only difference between the two modes is whose money sits on the balance.

On a game you play in long quiet sessions, the part of the package that does the most work is the monthly cashback: 10% of the net loss for the period, credited automatically on the first day of each month, with x5 to wager once you activate it and 14 days before an untouched cashback expires. Sport bets stay out of that calculation. Every condition attached to it sits on the bonuses page, next to the 100 free spins that arrive with a new account and the x3 turnover every deposit carries before it can leave.

Same fruit, more lines, or more bite

Two cards sit close to this one, and neither of them repeats it. Here is what separates the three at the reels.

Red Hot 100the same fruit spread over a hundred lines by True Labs, with a chilli pepper doing the wild's jobtake it when you want the balance to move on most spins

The rest of the Hit tab, card by card, is laid out on the Vavada slots page.

What this card is good for, and where it will annoy you

  • What works
  • the star pays from anywhere on the grid, so a spin with nothing on a line can still pay
  • the gamble ladder is a genuine decision, and hardly anything built in the last few years bothers to include one
  • 1000x from a screen of sevens is a serious top for a game with no round to fund
  • What to keep in mind
  • RTP 95.66% sits a shade under the newer cards on the shelf: over a long month, let the 10% cashback do the balancing
  • no free spins means no points in a free spins race either, so the Novomatic pool stays out of reach from here
  • the studio opens no public demo, so a free spin on this card needs an account first

Any honest Sizzling Hot Deluxe slot review comes out short, because the game is short. Five lines, a star, a seven and a coin call. Everything this card will ever do to you is visible on the first screen, which is more than most of the shelf can say.

Honestly, the gamble button is the part I cannot leave alone, and that is not a compliment to me. Twice now I have sent a full seven line into a colour call and watched it disappear. The game did nothing underhand either time: it offered, and I said yes. If you already know that about yourself, collect the win and keep the reels turning. If you do not know it yet, this is the card that will tell you.
